Hand Crafted Rose

Remember a loved one with a beautiful, hand crafted Silver Jubilee keepsake rose created from recycled metal. Help create a rose garden to honour the lives of those who have used Rowans Hospice services over the past 25 years.

You can purchase a rose and make your dedication below.

The roses formed a display at Rookesbury Park between 25 – 30 October 2019, alongside a book of dedications.  Purchased roses will now be posted out or available to collect from the Hospice after Monday 18 November 2019.

Please note: Dedications will be written on a special card to accompany your rose. The book of dedications will be available to view in the Hospice chapel on an ongoing basis.

Why Roses?

Symbolic for a plethora of meanings from friendship, love, appreciation to purity, a rose is a breath-taking flower that says so much without needing to say anything.

Combined with the imagery of the butterfly, which so beautifully symbolizes transformation and joy, every element of the sculpture unites to create a powerful celebration of the emotions and moments that have transformed and shaped us, into who each of us are today.

Every rose will be as individual as your memory, whether you have had a loved one who was cared for by the Hospice, worked or volunteered here, or you may simply want to treasure a unique piece of art or buy it as a special gift.

Whatever your motivation is, you will also be rewarded by knowing that every rose purchased will support Rowans, your local hospice, to continue to deliver outstanding care to patients and their families with life limiting illnesses for another 25 years.

The Designer and Design

Designed by local artist Jamie Cullimore. Jamie grew up on his parent’s smallholding near Fareham and initially followed in his father’s horticultural footsteps. In recent years, he has combined his passion for flowers with a love of metal work to create bespoke items so that people can enjoy blooms that last forever.

The outdoor sculpture will be made up of 650 individual hand crafted metal roses made from recycled metals.  75 special edition stainless steel roses also have a recycled metal butterfly adornment.  Together these individual works of art will encircle a large central stainless steel rose with butterfly sculpture.

To purchase your very own unique rose, please use the order form below. (Please note due to their individual nature, colour will vary and we can not guarantee which colour you will receive).

Please complete a separate form for each individual rose that you want to order. If you would like 2 roses you must fill in the form twice so we can ensure the dedications are attributed correctly.
